Background: Methods for assessing asthma control include symptom severity score and spirometry. As spirometry is expensive, requires patient cooperation, and not readily available, six minute walk test (6MWT) as a simple tool can be an option to assess asthma control.

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine if 6MWT compared with spirometry can be used as a monitoring tool and assess asthma control in patients with persistent asthma.
