SESSION TITLE: Pulmonary Vascular Disease I

SESSION TYPE: Original Investigation Poster

PRESENTED ON: Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 01:30 PM - 02:30 PM

PURPOSE: Development of PE in a patient with PAH carries a poor prognosis. The optimal management of a large PE in PAH is not well studied. In the case series of 6 patients by Hemnes A.R. et al, they reported a high immediate mortality associated with pericardial fluid drainage. We describe a single center experience involving 4 cases of moderate to large PE with PAH that successfully underwent pericardiocentesis.
