SESSION TITLE: Lung Cancer III
SESSION TYPE: Original Investigation Poster
PRESENTED ON: Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 01:30 PM - 02:30 PM
PURPOSE: Diagnosis of lung cancer is typically established with biopsy of enlarged mediastinal lymph nodes, lung nodules or extra-thoracic metastatic deposits. Ultrasound guided needle aspiration (USNA) of non-palpable supraclavicular lymph nodes for the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer has not been well studied and is infrequently performed. We hypothesized the procedure could yield adequate specimens for rapid diagnosis, characterization and molecular studies; and prevent more invasive procedures.
