SESSION TYPE: Original Investigation Slide

PRESENTED ON: Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 02:45 PM - 04:15 PM

PURPOSE: Point-of-care ultrasonography has rapidly become a necessary skillset for clinicians caring for critically ill patients. Fellows, residents, and medical students are increasingly being taught how to perform and understand bedside ultrasound (US). Faculty sufficiently competent in critical care ultrasonography to supervise and teach these learners, however, are lacking. Moreover, many faculty feel left behind by the emergence of this modality. We developed a 1-day course specifically tailored to critical care faculty without extensive ultrasound experience in order to develop baseline competence and foster confidence in fundamental critical care ultrasound examinations.
