SESSION TITLE: Student/Resident Case Report Poster - Critical Care V

SESSION TYPE: Student/Resident Case Report Poster

PRESENTED ON: Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 01:30 PM - 02:30 PM

INTRODUCTION: Invasive cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a well-documented infection in immunocompromised hosts. CMV in the immunocompetent population is common, but most are asymptomatic carriers. The significance of CMV infection in ICU patients is unclear, though it may lead to worse outcomes for some patients. We present an unusual case of CMV pneumonitis in an immunocompetent host with a fatal outcome.
