INTRODUCTION: Drug induced immune thrombocytopenia (DITP) is commonly seen in patients with acute thrombocytopenia which cannot be explained by causes other than the presence of convincing drug-induced etiology. There are multiple reports of thrombocytopenia associated with alternative medicines, herbal remedies, nutritional supplements, foods and beverages.
