INTRODUCTION: Tuberculous (TB) pericarditis is an unusual etiology of pericardial effusion in the USA. Moreover, TB pericardial tamponade is a very rare presentation. The diagnosis is often delayed or missed, resulting in complications and increased mortality. We report a case of TB pericardial tamponade which initially required drainage but later resolved completely with treatment.
