INTRODUCTION: Hypersensitivity reaction secondary to the release of mast cells and increased inflammatory mediators is a rare cause of unexplained cardiac arrest due to coronary vasospasm. It is a well-established phenomenon which was first described in 1950 and a few documented cases of such phenomenon have been reported in the literature.
