SESSION TITLE: Student/Resident Case Report Poster - Cardiovascular Disease II
SESSION TYPE: Student/Resident Case Report Poster
PRESENTED ON: Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 01:30 PM - 02:30 PM
INTRODUCTION: Ventricular fibrillation (VF) is common but recurrent VF is less frequently encountered. Studies have shown that VF is associated with organic heart disease, most often, myocardial infarction resulting from coronary stenosis. Rarely is idiopathic 2:1 atrioventricular block (AVB) implicated. The VF usually is related to the associated bradycardia. We present a case report of recurrent VF in a middle-aged female with idiopathic 2:1 AVB without coronary artery disease.
